This page gives you information about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our service.
The General Data Protection Regulation – Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April, considers personal data to be “information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”). An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier, such as a name, an identification number, location data, electronic identifiers, or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
Information Gathering and Use
Depending on how you interact with Portiate (online, offline, on the phone and/or in person), we collect various types of information about you, as described below:
Personal contact information: this includes information you provide to us that allows us to contact you, such as your name, postal address, e-mail address, social media details or phone number.
Demographic Information: any information that describes your demographic or behavioral characteristics. Some examples include your date of birth, age or age range, geographic location (e.g., zip code), favorite products, hobbies and interests, as well as household or lifestyle information.
Technical Information about Computer/Mobile Device: any information about the computer system or other technological device you use to access one of our websites or apps, such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer or device to the Internet, operating system type, and web browser type and version. If you access the website through a mobile device, such as a smartphone, the information collected will also include, where permitted, your cell phone’s unique identification number, advertising identifier, geolocation and other similar mobile device data, including through the use of beacons.
Website/communications usage information: when you browse and interact with our websites or newsletters, we use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your activity. This includes information such as the links you click, the pages or content you view and for how long, as well as other similar information and statistics about your interactions, such as content response times, download errors and length of visits to particular pages. This information is captured through automated technologies such as cookies (browser cookies, flash cookies) and web beacons, and is also collected through third party tracking services (such as Double Click, Google Analytics, Adobe Dynamic Tag Management and/or Omniture). The consumer has the right to object to the use of such technologies.
Customer Feedback: this includes information you voluntarily share with us about your experience of using our products and services.
Customer-Generated Content: this refers to any content that you create and then share with us on a social network or by uploading it to one of our websites or apps, including the use of social networking apps, such as Facebook. Some examples include photographs, videos, personal stories or other similar media or content. Where permitted, we collect and post customer-generated content related to a variety of activities, including contests and other promotions, community website features, consumer engagement and third party social media activities.
Social Network Information: this refers to any information that you share publicly on a social network or information that is part of your profile on a third party’s social network (such as Facebook) that you allow the third party’s social network to share with us. Examples include your basic account information (e.g., name, email address, gender, date of birth, city in which you live, profile picture, username, friend list, etc.) and any additional information or activities that you allow to be shared by the third party social network. We receive your social networking profile information (or parts thereof) whenever you download or interact with a Portiate web application on a social network such as Facebook, whenever you use a social networking feature that is integrated into a Portiate website (such as Facebook Connect) or whenever you interact with us through a social network. For what purposes may we use your personal data?
Customer Service: we use your Personal Data for customer service purposes, including responding to your inquiries. This process typically involves the use of certain personal contact information and information related to the reason for your inquiry (e.g. technical question, product question/complaint, general question, etc.).
Contests, marketing and other promotions: with your consent, we use your Personal Data to provide you with information about products or services (e.g., marketing communications or campaigns or promotions). This may occur through means such as e-mail, advertisements, SMS, telephone and postal mail, or push notifications. Some of our campaigns and promotions may be run on third party websites and/or social networks.
Social Networks: we use your personal data when you interact with third-party social networking features, such as “Like” functions to serve you advertisements and communicate with you on social networks. Personalization (offline and online): upon your consent we use your personal data

How we keep your personal data secure?
We are committed to ensuring the protection of the security of the personal data made available to us, having approved and implemented rigorous technical and organizational measures in this regard. Compliance with these rules is an obligation of all those who access them.

3.1. How long do we keep your personal data?
When there is no legal obligation to retain personal data, your personal data will be kept for the time necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, after which it will be anonymized or destroyed.

Cookies are files containing small amounts of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a Web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive.
We use cookies to collect information. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to tell you when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some features of our service.
6.1. Cookie DoubleClick
Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our Service. Google’s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to our Service or other sites on the Internet.

6.2. Behavioral Remarketing
At Portiate we use remarketing services to serve ads to you on third party websites after you have visited our service. We and our external suppliers (third parties) use cookies to inform, optimize and serve ads based on your previous visits to our Service.

Service Suppliers
We may pass your personal data to third parties to provide services on behalf of Portiate, or to help us analyze how our service is used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform such tasks on our behalf, and are obliged to keep your data secure and to use it only and exclusively for the purpose for which it is contracted, and as soon as the data is no longer required, it will be deleted immediately.
Compliance with the Law
We will disclose your Personal Information only when required to do so by law.
We inform you that the Portuguese administrative control authority for data protection is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, to which you can appeal if you consider that we have violated the privacy policy.
Commercial Transactions
If Portiate is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your Personal Information may be transferred. You will be notified before your Personal Information is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy than the one set out here.
Safeties
At Portiate we are committed to ensuring the protection of the security of the personal data made available to us, for which reason we have approved and implemented strict measures in this area.
Bearing in mind the great concern and commitment that Portiate shows in defending privacy issues, we have adopted various security measures, of a technical and organizational nature, in order to protect the personal data provided to us against disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized treatment or access, as well as against any other form of lawful treatment.
In this sense, in all our websites, the forms for collecting personal data require encrypted browser sessions and all the personal data you provide us about you are stored securely on our servers, which are located in a Data Center covered by all the physical and logical security measures we believe are essential to the protection of your personal data.
Notwithstanding the security measures adopted by Portiate, we are obliged to warn those who browse the internet that they should adopt additional security measures, namely to ensure that they use a PC and Browser that is up to date in terms of security patches, properly configured, with an active firewall, antivirus and antispyware, and to ensure the authenticity of the sites they view on the internet, avoiding sites whose reputation they do not trust.
Whenever you are asked for credit card information, this communication is done over a secure SSL line, when you are using browsers that allow it.
International Transfer
Your information, including personal information, may be transferred to – and maintained on – computers located outside your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
If you are outside Portugal and choose to provide us with information please note that the information, including personal information, will be processed in Portugal.
Links to Other Websites
Our website may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Portiate. The provision of such links is made in good faith and Portiate cannot be held responsible for the possible collection and processing of personal data carried out on these websites, nor can it be held responsible for the accuracy, credibility and functionality of websites belonging to third parties.
Children’s Privacy Policy
Our service is not directed to children under the age of 16 (“Children”). Children’s data is collected only with the permission of the holder of parental responsibility, so we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are the holder of parental responsibility or guardian, and you become aware that your child or guardian has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from children under the age of 16 without their consent, we will take prompt action to remove that information from our servers.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
